Dead Head - Your hair is dead when it exits your head/scalp. Products help maintain the work that you're already doing internally to make your hair healthy. For example, products will not repair split ends...the only thing you can do for split ends is have them trimmed. Don't fall for the okey doke! Products are great for maintenance and when you find the right one (s) for your hair, it can be a great find.
Drink Water - I know you are sick of people saying this, but water is really important for your body, skin and especially your hair. Like the skin, hair needs lubrication from the inside. Water is transported from the roots of your hair to the tips. Your roots soak up the water inside your skin and hydrates the rest of your hair. If the roots are deficient in adequate water levels, your hair will eventually become dry, brittle, break off and may stop growing at the maximum genetic rate. Even worse, hair that is deprived of proper daily water intake may stop growing completely. So, if you want soft, hydrated, healthy hair that grows...start drinking more water!
Eat Your Fruits & Veggies - No matter how fly your hairstyle is or what products you use, nothing can cover up unhealthy hair. Strong, healthy moisturized hair, is a result of feeding your body the right nutrients and lots of water. Fruits and Vegetables provide the body with essential "natural" nutrients that can improve your overall hair health and growth. So as often as you can, switch out the shake or soda for a green smoothie and add a salad loaded with lots of vegetables to your meals at least three times a week. See recipe below for my favorite green drink...not only is it refreshing, but it tastes great. You can try it as a smoothie or even for juicing.
Pineapple Perfection
2 handfuls of your favorite greens (I mix Kale & Spinach together)
2 cups of liquid (this is for making a smoothie only...I use almond milk)
2 cups of frozen or fresh pineapple
1 small Banana (smoothie only)
1 small pear (cored)
1/2 cucumber (peel it for smoothie)
1/4 teaspoon of fresh ginger
Optional - Add a few sprigs of Parsley (no stems)
Catch you later,
